Dear Players and Friends:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 3rd Annual Golf Fore Arthritis Tournament at the Del Mar Country Club. Our first two years of the tournament were big successes and brought a vital source of funding for the operation of the Arthritis Center and the Clinical Investigation Institute (CII) at the University of California San Diego. Our goal this year is to raise $100,000.00 for the Center and the CII. We hope that your support can assist us in attaining that goal.

Through the hard work and dedication of the volunteer committee and the support of our generous sponsors, the tournament continues to flourish. Over 40 million Americans are now living with arthritis and recent studies indicate that this number will reach 60 to 80 million over the next few decades. UCSD recognizes the remarkable increase in arthritis cases as a major medical need and has created the Arthritis Center as a multi-disciplinary clinical and research program to combat this disease.

Your partnership with UCSD and other corporate sponsors and friends helps to enlarge our ever-widening circle of friends. Through these partnerships we can continue to respond to the health care needs by establishing areas of excellence, such as the Arthritis Center, as well as offering the finest in patient care and “bench to bedside” research available in our community – together we can make a difference.
